Payroll that understands your files

In our series “Paymira in Practice”, we said we would take the tedious groundwork out of payroll. Today we keep another promise. Until now, payroll had an unwritten rule: if you want to bring data in, you first put it into the right format. We’re turning that around. From now on, your payroll run data comes straight from the files you already have, just as they are.

The monthly ritual

Do you know this moment before the payroll run? The timesheets for your employees paid by the hour have arrived as an Excel export from time tracking. The expense list is a PDF. And now the real work begins: line by line, you copy the values into payroll. Find the name, type the value, check it, next line.

This work isn’t difficult. But it takes time every month, it wears you down, and that is exactly where mistakes happen. Two digits swapped in the hours worked are caught in the check, at best. At worst, they show up on the payslip.

Your files are enough

At Paymira, we think nobody should have to copy data by hand that is already digital. That is why data import works with the files you have anyway: Excel, CSV or PDF, just as they come out of your systems. Even a PDF that was never meant for further processing gets read.

You upload the file. An agent works out what kind of data it holds and which period it covers, and assigns the values to the right employees and pay types. Shortly afterwards, your data is ready for you to check. In the meantime, you carry on with your work.

There is no need to reformat your files. You bring your formats, and we take care of reading them.

Agents prepare, you approve

In payroll, a confident mistake is worse than honest uncertainty. So however much is automated, one principle holds without exception: the hours and expenses come from you, so no recognised value goes into the payroll run before you have checked and approved it.

The review view makes this as easy as possible. Your original file is on the left, the recognised values on the right, side by side. Every value shows how reliably it was recognised, with a link to the exact place in your source file. So you check where it matters instead of having to trust blindly. If a value is wrong, you correct it on the spot. If a person is missing, you add them in a few clicks. The values only go into the payroll run once you accept them. Thanks to real-time calculation, you see the effect on every single payslip at once.

The result: the monthly typing ritual becomes a short check.

Responsible AI, privacy-compliant

Payroll data is among the most sensitive data a company holds, so we only use AI under clear conditions. Your data is processed strictly under the Swiss Data Protection Act (revFADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and isn’t stored beyond its purpose. Your payroll data never trains third-party models. External AI services run with zero data retention.

People stay in control. Agents prepare, you decide. No recognised value changes a payslip before you have seen and approved it. The check is a fixed part of the feature. And for every value, you see how reliably it was recognised and, with one click, the exact place in your source file.
